Grooming

You may not realize it, but grooming is a very important part of your pet not only looking good, but feeling good too! While many breeds of dogs are recognized by their unique haircuts, all pets, both cats and dogs, can benefit from regular grooming. Brushing or combing your pet can help remove much of the extra fur that can lead to hairballs, excessive shedding and even stomach upset. Regular brushing can also help prevent mats which can adhere to underlying skin and cause irritation and sores. Keeping your pet’s face trimmed helps prevent eye problems and can make it easier for him/her to see. Hygiene clips prevent irritation to the tail and perineal area and help those spots stay cleaner longer. Special shampoos can be used for pets with skin infections, allergy problems or fleas.

Other components of a good groom include removing hair from the ears, trimming the nails and expressing anal glands, all of which keep your pet comfortable in addition to helping maintain good health. The groomers at BPC have the knowledge and experience not only to give your pet a great bath, trim or haircut, but also to keep a watchful eye for potential health problems that might show in areas such as the skin, eyes, ears and overall body condition.

As you can see, grooming is much more than soap and clippers! Give us a call to schedule a grooming appointment for your pet- they will look great and feel great too!

We groom dogs of all breeds and sizes.  We currently do not provide routine grooming services for cats, however, we do bathe cats when medically prescribed.
